  • 50 Stars - The 50 stars represent the 50 States that make up the United States of America.
  • 13 Red and White Stripes - The stripes represent the 13 states that existed when the United States became a new country in 1776.
  • Holidays to fly your flag -  Memorial Day, Flag Day, Independence Day, Armed Forces Day, Veterans Day, Washington's Birthday, and Lincoln's Birthday.
  • Upside down flag - this is a sign of danger or distress.
  • Flag at Half-Staff - According to The Flag Code, "By order of the President, the flag shall be flown at half-staff upon the death of principal figures of the United States Government and the Governor of a State, territory, or possession, as a mark of respect to their memory."
